一、each

      1. each只能接可数名词单数，表示每人...，人人...，强调个体

          eg. Each man is the master of his own forture. 

          每个人都是自己命运的主宰。

      2. each不仅能作限定词，还可以作代词；与之类似的一个词是every，但every只能作限定词，不能作代词

         eg. Each has a mouth. （人人都有一张嘴）

      3. 表达“二”的概念时，只能用each，不能用every

         eg. There are a lot of trees on each side of the street. （街道两旁都是树木）

       4. each不能与数词连用。

二、other

      1. other可以任意名词连用（包括单数、复数及不可数名词），表示“另外的、其余的”含义：

     eg. the other boy、other boys、 other water;

      2. 与数词连用时，数词要置于other之前。强调“类别”的概念，并非数量概念

     eg. I am always busy from Monday to Thursday, but I can come on three other days.  （我星期一到星期四很忙，但我其他三天能来）

     3. other之前可以加限定词修饰，如：some, any, every, enough, one/two..., no, many, his/her/my/their等

     eg. Can you give me some other reference books? （你能给我一些其他参考书吗？）

     eg. I have many other books for you to read. （我还有许多其他书给你看）

     4. other与others的区别：other只能作限定词使用，后面需要接名词，不能单独使用；others只能作代词，只能单独使用

     5. other/the other：other表不确定的“其他的、另外的”，the other+名词表示在特定范围内“剩余的”

each表示一定数目中的“每一个”，“个别”意义较重，表示“各有不同”，更强调个体；eg：

every表示数目不确定的许多人或物中间的“每一个”，“总和”意义较重，更强调总体，表示“大家一致”；eg：
Everyone is here.

一、each作“各自的”，“每个的”解，作形容词用：
1.There are many trees on each side of the river.河流两岸许多树。
2.Each element has some special properties.每种元素都有些特殊性质。
二、作“各自”、“每个”讲，作代词用：
1.Each has his advantages.各人都有其优点。
2.He gave each of us a tool.他给我们每人一件工具。
三、作“各自地”讲，作副词用：

六、each和every词义辨异：
Ⅰ.every只能作形容词，只有在与名词连用或构成复合词（如everybody每个人）时，才能作主语或宾语等，而each还可以作代词，直接作主语或宾语（见本文二各例句）。
Ⅱ.every虽指每个，而概括全体，而each只是指“每个”，却以“各……”为主。例如：
1.I know every member of the class.全班的人我都认识。（着重全体，即虽指每个，而概括全体。）
2.I know each member of the class.这个班每个人我都认识。（“个别”意义较重。）
3.We must correct every single error.我们必须改正所有错误。（着重全体。）

5.Hydrogen and sodium each have one electron in the outer layer. Each has a combining power of one. They each have one electron to lend to anther atom.氢和钠在外层各有一个电子。它们的化合价都是1.它们各有一个电子可借给其他原子。（句中第一、三个each作同位语，第二个each为代词作主语。这三个each都是“个别”意义较重。句中第二个one是通过of引出的同位语。）
一、other作形容词bai的用法：

1、other用作形容词作“别的du,其他的zhi,另外的”解时,常用来修饰复数名词或dao不可数名词; 如前面有this, that, some, any, each, every, no, none, one等词时,也可用来修饰单数名词。

2、other用在the或形容词性物主代词之后时,与单数名词连用表示“(两个中的)另一个”; 与复数名词连用表示某一集体中“其余的,剩下的(人或物)”。

二、other作代词的用法：
1、other用作代词时常用于复数形式,表示“其他的,别的或另外的人〔事物〕”; others若用于the或表示所属关系的限定词后,则表示“其余的人〔事物〕”,即把剩下的全部包括在内。

2、other也可用于单数形式,表示“(两者中的)另一个(人或事物)”,常与the连用。
