一、意思不同

二、用法不同
1、buy的基本意思是用金钱换取等价物,即“购买”，是普通用词，可接具体物品如书籍、衣物等作宾语。buy也可表示“付出…以换取…”,这时可接健康、幸福、名声、忠诚等抽象名词作宾语。buy的主语一般是人，也可以是无生命的事物。
2、spend可用作不及物动词,也可用作及物动词。用作及物动词时,只能以人作主语,接名词、代词作宾语。可用于被动结构。可用于“主+谓+宾+主补”结构，主语补足语可由形容词或过去分词充当。
3、cost主要用作及物动词。作“花费”“付出代价”解时，不用于被动结构，主语通常是物或事物。接名词或代词作宾语时，宾语为金钱、时间、精力等。接双宾语时，直接宾语为金钱、时间、精力等，间接宾语则总是人。可用于被动结构。
