这句话出自于黄庭坚的《品令》,是作者咏茶词的奇作了。

这首诗描写的是作者于灯下的一段幽思,想象着,是故人自远方来,两人对影灯下,那一刻,纵无言,心下亦是喜不自胜,那一刻的无言胜似千言。

第一句“恰如灯下故人”并不是“恰如灯下(之)故人”,而是“恰如灯下(有/来)故人”,故人乃自远方来,于是才有后边的“对影”。译时把“灯下”和下一句的“对影”放在一起,应比较妥当。

Like old friend under the light,
Back from far away in pair,
Just can't say anything,
Think happily in one's heart.

Just like in the light the late lament, ten thousand inside return to shadow, can't speech, heart bottom comfortable and happy examine oneself

Indistinct(朦胧的)as friengd's face under the lamp
Face to face just drinking but no words after long time's journey
mouth are convulsive(抽搐的)

Is as though under the lamp the dead person, ten thousand miles returnto the shade, the mouth cannot say, under the heart merrily engages inintrospection.

My old friend, Just like seeing you in the lamplight.
Seeing you by coming back from where millions of miles far away;
But now adays we stand,
stand in front of each other;
watching and smiling silently;
I wish u understand me,
we are both so happy that cant say a word.
