The mischievous aspect of "The Road Not Taken" is what makes it something un-boring, for there is little in its language or form which signals it is an interesting poem.

The Road Not Taken --
by Robert Frost (1874 - 1963)

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both 但可惜我不能两条都走
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could 我看一条路尽可能看得远
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear; 因绿草如茵邀人踩;
Though as for that the passing there 虽然在那路口
Had worn them really about the same, 踩过的痕迹几乎一样,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-- 两条路在树林内分叉,而我--
I took the one less traveled by, 我选择了较少人走的,
And that has made all the difference
