英语句式中， what 问句有很多种。但下面几种由 what 引导的特殊疑问句及其回答，同学们在平时的运用之中极易混淆。现笔者在此说明如下：
句式一： What is sb? （sb意为：某人）
这一问句意为“某人从事何种职业”。回答时，应用表示职业的名词来回答。同学们在运用时，极易与“ What is sb doing? ”这一问句混淆。“ What is sb doing? ”意为“某人正在做什么”，常常强调某人正在干的某一具体事情。例如：
— What is your mother?
— She is an English teacher.
— What is Tom's sister?
— She is a middle school student.
— What are you doing over there?
— I'm playing with a cat.
句式二： What is sb/sth like?
这一问句意为“某人（物）是个什么样”。回答时，常用形容某人（物）外表及其本质的形容词来回答。注意：这一问句一般不用 how 来提问。例如：
— What is his father like?
— He is tall and thin.
— What is Mary like?
— She is short but clever.
— What is the weather like today?
— It's rainy and windy.
句式三： What does sb/sth look like?
这一问句，意为“某人（物）看上去是个什么样”。回答时，常用形容某人（物）的“本质”的形容词＋名词来回答。这一问句，同学们极易误用为 How does sb/sth look like? （这是一种错误说法）。例如：
— What does your uncle look like?
— He looks/is like a warm-hearted man.
— What does Zhang Hua look like?
— He looks/is an honest and clever boy.
— What does your school's teaching building look like?
— It's a splendid one.
句式四： What do you think of sb/sth?
这一问句意为“你认为某人（物）怎么样”。强调“你”对某人（物）的评价。回答时，常用被评价的人或物的本质的形容词来回答。类似的句式还有： How do you like sb/sth? What/How about sb/ sth? 例如：
— What do you think of this film?
— It's very interesting and instructive.
— What do you think of John?
— He is good and hardworking.
— How do you like the football game?
— Wonderful.
— What/How about going to the cinema?
— Great.
注：句式 How is sb? 或 How does sb look/feel? 意为“某人身体如何”。回答时，常用形容人身体好坏的形容词来回答。例如：

英语语法 There be 结构
there be句型有特点,主语放在be后边,
多个主语并列时,be随最近主语变。
变疑问很简单,把be提到there前。
变否定也不难,be的后面not添。
肯定句中用some, 疑问、否定any换。
介词短语表地点,"有"表"存在"记心间。
There be在主语前,have/has在主语后。
多个主语并列时,There be随第一主语变。
并列主语表"所有",要用have是正理。
There be表"存在", have/has表"所有"。
