It is （the island） where (或on which) they spent 10 years.

2：It was at the vert beginning <that> Mr.Fox made the decision <that>we should send more firefighters there. 这个题我认为第一that是构成强调句 ，但是第二个that是同位语吗？ very beginning是什么结构和含义？

第一题很有意思，它属于迷惑性题了，本来应该在你熟悉了之前讲的原则之后再涉及这类题的。

先不看后面那些答语，如果问你，Do you remember where we met for the first time? 你回答，yes ，（It was ）in a hotel。那这个 in 是绝对不能少的是吧，它是回答前面那个问题的。把它变成强调句 It's in a hotel that we met for the first time。

下面问题来了，要修饰说明一下是你住过的那个hotel ，这部分是定语，先不看别的，就说你住过的那个店，怎么说？the hotel you stayed 还是the hotel you stayed in？

That is the hotel you stayed in last summer
That is the hotel in which(或where）you stayed last summer
这两句能看懂，是之前讲的原则，定语从句缺介词用where或介词加which

再看看你给的句子中stayed 的后面是不是还缺一个in ？因为前面那个in是答语中的，并不是stay 这个不及物动词加的介词。所以缺介词用where ，in which 都可以，It's in the hotel where （ in which ）you stayed that we met for the first time 。这就是套着一个定语从句的强调句了，以后可能会遇到。
