In the early age of my life, when my father was still alive, he always talked about the story about Li Zicheng. After Li entered Beijing, he ate dumplings every meal. Because he was addictive to dumplings' amazing taste, he was finally defeated by Wu Sangui and fled out of Beijing. Even though my father's story was just a folklore, the story indicated that dumplings are indeed unique.

Chinese people may never tried other kinds of delicious cuisine, but they definitely have tried dumplings. It is often said that break up to eat noodles and reunion to eat dumplings. No matter how poor people are, they would still managed to make some dumplings. Even they don't have meat to eat, they would use wild herbs instead to be the fillings. Dumpling is a mean to convey family love, just the same as fireworks, spring festival couplets and lanterns.

Dumpling has become a world wide food. Wherever there's a Chinese, dumplings would appear at that place. Some oversea Chinese haven't speaken Chinese for centuries, but they still keep the tradition of eating dumplings. Dumplings have become a part of our soul.There would be dumplings inner our mind, in our vessels and in the deep part of our heart. Even the time may passes by, people of generations may vary, dumplings are eternal the same in our heart. As a Chinese, I would never abandon dumplings.
