B. clothe是动词，直接排除；A.cloth 是布料，并不是必需品，因为衣服可以用布以外的材料制成，也可排除；至于C和D，clothing 与 food一样都是集合名词，可以相互呼应，所以选D；

3.“food and clothing”意思是wen饱，抱歉之前选错了
4.sense of hearing 意思是“听力”：只有sense表示人的感觉
5.People 表示人们，the public表示公众，另两个不靠谱
6.chinese这里是集合名词，表示中华民族（一群人），所以系动词是are，但接冠词a。（the是定冠词特制某一个民族所以不能选）
7.数学学科的学生。数学只能是mathematics，学生也是复数所以要加s
8.我父亲的一个朋友：只能是a frend of my father 或者one of my father’s friends
