About 30 people went to the company for the interview. When my turn came,I was a bit nerous.Sandy gave me a pat on the back and said,"Take it easy!"But it was hard. The manager was an easy-going man.He began by praising me for my English.I quickly became more confident. He asked me why I wanted the job.I said that for a student like me,it was a good way to learn to grow up and mature. He then asked me if Ihad any experience.I could have told him to his face that it was experience that I was looking for.But I didn't.What I actually said was that I had been involved in similar surveys that our teachers had us do in college. He clearly liked my answer.I forgot to ask about the wages. But I don't think it'll be a problem.

Last night,Philip King, the center of our school team, alone scored 22 points in the final of this year's High School League. His coach,Dan Brook, said after the match that he was very pleased with the result and especially satisfied with Philip's performance.
Philip moved to Shanghai with his parents the year before last. His height and natural talent in basketball made him the center of the school team. When asked why he loves basketball so much,Philip explained,"I love the cheering sound from the speectators when I shoot and score. But what I like most about the game is the teamwork the sport demands. To win a match, all five players must work together."Philip is still growing. He hopes that he could one day become a professional player.

In the past six weeks,Li Ming and I have spent a lot of time together.During this time,we came to know a lot more about each other. We are both book lovers. We have a common interest in art.We can talk about our favorite artists for hours without disagreeing on anything. But we are also very different people. We disagree with each other on many other things.Li Ming is a tradional person. He uses a classical camera and he believes human beings have become too reliant on modern technology. He has doubts about all kings of air-conditioners and we don't see eye to eye about the importance of astronomy. If you tell him that those things will enrich our lives, his answer is often"No,I don't think so.“As good friends,we agree todiffer.
