The Hope Project
The hope project was founded in 1989, of which purpose is helping millions of the poor children who can’t go to school to fulfill the dream with the donation of the whole society. Until 2004 it has received the account of 2.2 billion RMB which came from home and abroad, and has helped about 2.5 million poor children return school. The significance of Hope Project is great, and it has appealed to the public for concern to dropout. What’s more, it gives those children a second opportunity to return school, helping many of whom get rid of poverty and change their fate in adversity through utilizing the knowledge from school. Notwithstanding, as the RCSC came under fire after a woman named Guo Meimei, who claims to be affiliated with the society, posted photos of her lavish lifestyle to her microblog. people in online community speculated that her extravagant purchases may have been funded by money embezzled from RCSC, showing public demand for information disclosure by charities. The similar situation happens to the communication of the Hope Project, where corruption was rife in general. The money is embezzled in property or stock market, all the profit it brought was occupied by the investor, and the purpose of the fund-raising has changed. The lack of professional and transparency has hampered the development of charities. Today I learnt more about project hope in class and I was deeply touched.I found that there were many students from poor areas who had dropped out of school because they had difficulty in their families,and Liu sanzi is just one of them.I really wanted to help him return to school ,so that he could get proper education and study happily without worrying about his family ,like us. I talked to my parents about this,and they also agreed with my idea to help him.We decided to try our best to raise money for him.And I had also written a letter to him,expressing my feelings and encouraging him.We decided to sent the money and my letter to him right away.What a fantastic day!I hope he will be able to go to school with our help as soon as possible.
