《You Raise Me Up》的曲子由神秘园乐队成员罗尔夫·拉夫兰（Rolf Løvland）创作，原是名为“沉默的故事”（Silent Story）的器乐演奏片断，其部分旋律源自英国作家、主持人佛德里克·韦舍里在1910年创作的爱尔兰传统歌曲《丹尼男孩》（Danny Boy）。
