但是 not 是副词,不能直接修饰名词,若要修饰名词,只能和冠词等连用.
此外,由于 not 是副词,它还可以用来修饰动词,表示否定.

比如：
I have a book.

实义动词的否定需要借助于助动词 do,并带上表示否定的副词 not.
