双重介词根本就不是介词短语，是不相干的两个概念，例子如下：from behind, from under. （双重介词）in the room. on the desk （介词短语）I like the book on the desk. （介词短语作的定语）He is singing in the room.（介词短语作地点状语）Tom is in the room.（介词短语作表语）I saw him at work.（介词短语作宾语补足语）双重介词短语多数时候做状语，很少作其它成分。如下例：A cat rushed out from under the bed.（from under the bed为双重介词短语作状语）
