按这个意思来讲，这里原文中an individual can thrive 的can应该改成cannot才对呀？

我读清楚了，这么理解：

这个是说”个人在没有目标的情况下能成长多少“，成长被量化了来做比较。比如这个量是X,
这个X应该很小，因为人没目标，成长就小嘛。

Organiztions cannot thrive (条件) any more than X.
组织在这些条件下的成长还多不过X.
