1.Classes begin at 9.00 am and finish at 2.30 pm. Please inform your tutor or the office if you are not able to attend the class.
2.You must attend a minimum of 85% of your course. Students whose attendance falls below our requirement may, after three warnings, be expelled. A student will first receive one verbal warning, followed by a first and second written warning before being expelled. In the case of expulsion, there is no refund of fees. Your student visa requires you to attend all classes.
3.If you are sick for 2 days or more you should bring a doctor’s certificate, these days will not be counted as absences.
Behaviour
1.Students will abide by the laws of New Zealand.
2.Students will not engage in any form of harassment or discrimination whether of a sexual, cultural, religious or ethnic nature
3.Students will not behave in an abusive or threatening (verbal, emotional or physical) manner to other students
4.Mobile telephones are expected to be switched off in class and in the Student Self -Access Centre.
5.Students may only smoke in the designated smoking area outside. Students must take care not to come to class smelling of cigarette smoke.
6.Students will not intentionally act in a way that is likely to create a safety hazard or damage the goodwill of the public.
7.Students will dress and act to an appropriate standard. Foundation English may warn students or instigate disciplinary procedure for those students who consistently fail to comply with the appropriate standard.
Food
1.Food is to be consumed in the Student Kitchen or classrooms. Classrooms must be clean and tidy for study.
2.No alcohol is to be consumed on the premises unless specifically approved by the Management.
3.Students will not possess any illegal items or be on the premises or on a Foundation English related activity under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
