我们中国有两个“年”，一个是即将要到来的阳历年-元旦，另一个就是阴历大年，即春节the Spring Festival。

还可以用spend the New Year's Eve，因为这一晚是我们要和家人朋友一起（花时间）度过的，所以用spend也是贴切的。
这一晚通常我们都会和亲朋好友一起做点什么来庆祝，也就是参加跨年活动： attend New Year's Eve celebrations。
