身份问题：
通常会问的大概有如下其中的问题：
1. How long were your absence（leave, depart from, be off, travel tour trip journey peregrinate） from Canada? Why? 你离开(旅行)加拿大有多长时间？ 为什么
2. Why you don’t have PR Card? 你为什么没有枫叶卡？
3. Have you lived in Canada for two years or more? 有在加拿大住满两年？
4. How long have you live in Canada? 你住在加拿大多久？
5.What’s the purpose of you come back to Canada? 你这次回加拿大的目的？
6. When will you back to China/Taiwan? 何时回中国／台湾？
7. Do you have a return ticket to China/Taiwan?
移民局不会问很多问题，只检查有关入境手续（护照和签证，邀请信，入学通知，有关费用证明，以及I-20 或 IAP66 等表），移民局会收走 I-20 （留学生）或 IAP66 （访问学者）的白色和黄色表格，把粉色表格给本人，一定要检查一下，偶尔会发生移民官粗心大意把表格给错。 入境前，通常是在飞机上要填两张表，一张是入境卡，一张是海关申报表，乘务员会告诉你怎么填，切记入关后，一定要把入境卡和护照订在一起，不要丢失。
有时移民官会问一些问题，比如：
你旅行的目的是什么？（What is the purpose of your visit?） 回答：学习。（Study）
或：你去哪里？（Where are you going?）
你将在哪所大学学习？学习什么？为什么要来美国学习这个专业（比如MBA）（Which university will you study in & what is the program?Why do you come to US to study MBA?）
你将在这里停留多久？（How long will you stay here?）
除了此城市（比如华盛顿），你还去哪里？（Are you going to other cities & what are they?）

除了学习以外，你还准备做什么？（Do you have any other purpose?）
回答：无（No）
随身携带多少现金？（How much cash do you bring with you?） hE4`1]3{
根据个人情况回答，不要超过伍仟美元现金。
由谁提供此行费用？（Who is your sponsor for your study?）
同行的有多少人？（How many people accompany with you?）
是否打算留在美国工作？（Are you going to stay here and work?）
回答：否。（No）
会话原则：力求简单，一问一答，不知道就不答，不要主动提问。
注：洛杉矶的移民官中有些台湾人和亚裔，对中国人有时不太友好，经常会问一些问题，其它口岸稍好一些。
海关通常只问：有什么要申报的吗？你带食品或水果了吗？（Do you have anything to declare? Any food? or Any fruit?）

Taking a guest to the room
在酒店里所使用的英语会话，基本上是属于商业英语，与日常生活会话中所使用的英语略有不同，较注重礼节。正式英语通常会让人误解为极艰深的英语，其实，只要套用一定格式的句子和单词，就可以了。例如：
