抱歉。当时没看见第二题最后的几个词（ninth-century AD）。我想fine在这里指的是美好。全句的意思可能是最深远的例子就是美好的公元9世纪。其实由于缺乏上下文，这个意思也只是根据句子本身而推测的。阅读理解最重要的就是上下文了。

3. 这句话主干是 descriptions exist. 至于后面的that从句， 从意思上看，应该是修饰前面这句话的，意思是说 “这样描述的存在，是为了帮助给锅分类” ？（听起来是有点别捏哈^.^）
4. stand out 我认为是使你“印象深刻”的意思
6. 会不会是salt domes 就是such as 的内容，他们共同修饰they?
7. imperative 是引申成“控制”了吧
9. sth of highly quality 是书面的写法，又比如：sth of great importance， 等同于important sth。
在托福写作中可以多多变换，增加你的TTR（这是电脑算分常见的方法，通俗说就是计算同根词形式的多样性。比如：assume, assumes, assumption, it is assumed that, to assume, assuming... ）
