人物经历
1982 年毕业于山西大学数学系。 1982 年 ---2002 年山西大学任教。 2002年获香港中文大学博士学位。 1993 年 7 月 ---1993 年 12 月被澳大利亚国立大学邀请作为访问学者科研合作。 1997 年 5 月 ---1997 年 11 月被西班牙瓦伦西亚大学邀请作为访问教授科研合作。 1998 年 10 月 —1999 年 3 月被美国俄亥俄州立大学邀请作为访问学者科研合作。 2002 年 ---2004 年曾多次被香港中文大学邀请进行科研合作。 现为上海大学教授 , 博士生导师。 学术 *** ： <<美国数学评论>>评论员。

主要贡献
学术成就
他多年来一直从事有限群的研究 , 在正规补子群的存在方面推广了著名的 Brauer-Suzuki定理，并从通常研究的对偶角度出发首次研究正规补的存在，为正规补的研究提供了一种新的研究途径。在可解群的研究方面解决了著名群论专家 Deskins提出的一个猜想。近年来从事极小子群对有限群结构影响的研究，统一并推广了著名的 Burnside定理和 Ito 定理，为进一步刻划某些饱和群系奠定了基础。

2002—2004, 发展套用局部方法研究群的结构和攻克若干难题, 国家自然科学基金, 17万。 2003—2005, 极小子群的性质与有限群的结构, 上海市自然科学基金, 5万, 主持。 2005—2007, 有限群的局部性质与对偶饱和群系, 国家自然科学基金, 主持。
