Lesson 49: A young man in Teheran bought a real bed for the frist time in his life . Because the weather was hot he slept on the roof of his house . The bed was swept off the roof during a strom three nights later .The man was not only unhurt but still on his mattress . As the bed was in pieces , he carried the mattres indoors, he put it on the floor and he went back to sleep . Lesson 51: Hugh is so fat that he has gone on a diet . He has forbidden himself all the foods he likes but he has not lost weight . When the writer visited him yesterday he hid a large parcel under his desk . The parcel contained chocolate and sweets .
