methylmethionine sulfonium chloride, also called vitamin U, is in 胃仙U. It is found in many flowering plants. I guess you can call it herbal source. the outer layer of 胃仙U is antacids.

methylmethionine sulfonium chloride is not a true vitamin. It can indeed has uler healing effect. Mechanism is not clear. May be due to its anti-oxidative effect.
I don't know for sure if it carry any side effects since it is mainly available in Asia. I suppose it is safe if you follow the direction.
